CC classics graduates are interested in expanding their horizons and using knowledge from many sources to achieve happy and productive lives. Alan Woo , 1971 Alan received his MPA from California State University and is now the Director of Planning for Community Action Partnership of Orange County. |

Jim Anderson, 1973 Jim earned both his MA and his PhD from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and is the Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor of Classics at the University of Georgia. He is also Director of the University of Georgia's Classics Study Abroad Program in Rome each summer, and would welcome applications from CC students. |
Bill Dove, 1975 Bill is the supervisor of the Counseling Center here at Colorado College. |

Diane Rayor, 1980 Diane is a professor of Classics in the Classics Department that she helped start at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. She has published translations of ancient Greek poetry, including "Sappho's Lyre (1991) and "The Homeric Hymns" (2004). Her translation of Sophocles' Antigone, designed for the classroom and the stage, will be available in March 2011 form Cambridge University Press. Diane was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Colorado College on September 6, 2010. Her husband, David Hast (CC '79), is an English teacher at Jenison High School. Their son, David, is majoring in math at the University of Michigan. |
Sandy Gray Zemanek, 1981 Sandy has earned her Second Degree Black Belt in karate, and is the owner and operator of AKKA Karate USA in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Outside of karate, she enjoys gardening, reading, and traveling.

Gretchen Bloom Lockwood, 1982 Gretchen is the author of the "Veterinary Hippocratic Oath" and after working as a veterinarian for 16 years, is now enjoying the literary milieu at Borders, working as a bookseller, and volunteering at the local library. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, writing, and hiking. |

Joel Barstad, 1983 After earning his PhD at the University of Notre Dame in 1998, Joel now serves as the Theology Cycle Program Director at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver. |
Margi Duran, 1983 Currently a member of New Life Health Partners in San Diego, Margi has worked as a massage therapist, herbalist, and acupuncturist since 1988. Her expertise and interests lie in traditional Chinese medicine and she is a tai chi and qi gong practitioner. |
Avivah Matranga Polmer, 1984 As a self-employed reading specialist and private tutor, Avivah is deeply involved in the Colorado Springs education community, especially as an advocate for children with learning disabilities. |
Braxton Copley, 1985 Braxton received his JD at the University of Kansas in 1991 and now serves as an Assistant City Attorney in Topeka. |
Jonathan Lake , 1985 Jonathan received his MBA from Arizona State University and his MIM (Masters in International Management) from Thunderbird--The American Graduate School of International Management. He currently works as the Business Development Manager for Microsoft. |
Mary Able, 1986 After working as a paralegal for 11 years, Mary now practices massage therapy, acupuncture, and Trager bodywork in Lakewood, CO. |
Todd Breyfogle , 1988 Since leaving Colorado College, Todd has earned multiple graduate degrees: BA, Ancient and Modern History, Corpus Christi College, Oxford; MA, Patristic and Modern Theology, Corpus Christi College, Oxford; MA, Committee on Social Thought, University of Chicago; PhD, Committee on Social Thought, University of Chicago. He is now employed as Director of Seminars at the Aspen Institute in Denver, CO. |
Noel Lenski, 1988 Noel received his MA and PhD from Princeton University and is now Associate Professor of Classics at the University of Colorado in Boulder. |
James Biron, 1989 Jimi is the Director of Music Programming and Venue Development for McMenamins Inc. and enjoys bicycling, skiing, soccer, and the great outdoors of the Portland area. |
Andrea Nixon, 1989 With her MA from George Washington University and her PhD from the University of Minnesota, Andrea is an educational researcher who works at Carleton College. She conducts educational research projects that are designed to examine the efficacy of curricular and research support available to students and faculty. Research findings are used by members of the Carleton community to more closely align support mechanisms made available by the institution with a dynamic curriculum.

Carolyn Schwartz Carroll, 1990 After working for many years in the marketing/PR arena for symphony orchestras in a number of major cities, Carolyn now works as a Registered Nurse in a Colorado Springs hospital ICU. She lives a very active life as a flamenco dancer, white water rafter, and scuba diver! She also admits to being a closet archaeologist. |

James Broderick-King, 1991 Having earned his MA in Classics at the University of Colorado in 1994, Jim is working as a Latin and Greek teacher at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, CO. |
Christina Clarkson Craiutu, 1991 Christina received her MA from the University of North Carolina in 1997 and is currently studying at home in the Indiana University Modern Greek Studies Program, while considering doctoral programs in Greek. |
Peter Padilla, 1992 After graduating, Peter worked in the State Legislature for two years, followed by two more years working in higher education non-profit administration. Since then, he has been employed in the telecommunications industry. He is currently working toward a master's degree in Computer Information Technology at Regis University, and working as the Director of Network Testing for Level 3 Communications in Broomfield, CO. He also sings in a chamber chorus, "Sine Nomine." In his own words: "I have a great time explaining to high school students on graduation (I am part of a mentoring program) that a classics degree is as 'relevant' as anything else out there, and that it has permitted me to flexible and adaptive in the work force." |
Josh Holo, 1993 Having earned his PhD from the University of Chicago, Josh is now Dean and Associate Professor of Jewish History at Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles. |
Jeff Rydberg-Cox, 1993 Jeff earned his PhD from the Committee on the Ancient Mediterranean World at the University of Chicago and is now Professor of English, Chair of Department, and Director of Classical and Ancient Studies Program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. |
Doug Casson, 1994 Doug received his PhD in Political Science from Duke University in 2004 and is now an Assistant Professor of Political Science at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.

John Langhus, 1994 John is a lawyer, having received his JD from New York University. He works as the Commercial Director for Forest Exploration International. |

Scott Craig, 1995 Since graduation, Scott has worked in the computer software industry and is currently employed as Director of the Project Management Office for Perceptive Software, Inc. in Shawnee, KS. |
Betsey Russell Reed, 1995 Betsey is currently a stay-at-home mom in Plano, TX, completing a Teaching Certification Program and hoping to be employed for the 2008-2009 school year. |
Ambrose Criste, 1997 After receiving theology degrees from the University of St. Thomas Aquinas and Pontifical Gregorian University, both in Rome, Fr. Ambrose now serves as Novice Master and Junior Master at St. Michael's Abbey in Silverado, CA. |

Jason Gallo, 1998 Jason received his MA from Georgetown University and his PhD from Northwestern University, and is a researcher with the Science and Technology Institute in Washington, DC. |

Joseph received his MA in Archaeological Heritage Management from Boston University and is now employed as an archaeologist for the National Park Service in Santa Fe, New Mexico. |
Kathryn Jenkins, 1999 Katie received her BS from North Dakota State University in 2004, and now works for Sylvan Learning Center. |
James Killpack, 1999 After receiving his MSA from the University of North Carolina in 2005, Jamie is now Assistant Controller for The Campbell Group in Portland, Oregon. |

Crystal Rosenthal , 1999 Crystal received her MA in Classical Antiquity from the University of Colorado and is now the McDermott Graduate Curatorial Intern in Ancient and Asian Art at the Museum of Art in Dallas. |
Daniel Thiem, 1999 Dan received his MBA from the University of Otago in 2006 and will soon be taking ownership of The Outside Inn in Nevada City, CA. |

Robert Beson, 2000 Rob is an architect and teacher at the University of Sydney and the University of Technology in New South Wales, Australia. |
Cassandra Mercer, 2000 Cassi earned her MA in Classics at the University of Colorado in 2004 and is currently a Lewis & Clark College employee working at the National Crime Victim Law Institute, a national non-profit dedicated to protecting, enforcing, and advancing crime victims' rights, in Portland, OR. |

Catt attended the Monterey Institute of International Studies, where she earned her TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She works now as an ESL instructor at Cuesta Community College and Alan Hancock College in California. |
Molly Mayfield Barbee, 2001
Molly earned her MDIV from Harvard Divinity School in 2004 and is currently living in Montreal, Canada, finishing her job as the Assistant Director for Development for Peace X Peace. She will soon be joining her husband as a Foreign Service Officer with the State Department in Iraq. In her own words: "My love of languages
was just budding at CC, and . . . it continues
to grow. . . . Spending time in the CC Classics
department was how I first learned that languages are an especially good 'way in' to understanding a culture. I now wonder if learning
languages might actually be a 'way in' to understanding more
than just cultural perspectives, but personal ones as well. I'm planning

Caitlin Anderson, 2005 After receiving a Classical Languages Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania, Caitlin now works as Assistant to the Curator of Printed Books at the University of Pennsylvania's Rare Book Library. |
Heather Perlberg, 2005 Heather is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Journalism at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. |
Michael Anthony Fowler, 2006 After receiving a B.A. from Colorado College in 2006, Michael attended Harvard University, where he completed a M.T.S. in Religions of the World, with particular interest in spatial and temporal context of the ancient Mediterranean (2008). He continued graduate studies in Classical Archaeology at Tufts University and took the M.A. in 2010. Currently, Michael resides in New York City and is pursuing a PhD in Art History and Archaeology (Greek specialization) at Columbia University. He holds research assistantships to professors at Columbia University and Providence College. For the past two summers, Michael has done fieldwork with Marsala Hinterland Survey and traveled around Europe to visit museum collections and archaeological sited of interest. |
Ben Miele, 2006 Ben is a pursuing his PhD in Early Modern Studies (particularly Shakespeare and the connections between his and Ovid's work) at the University of Iowa. |
Laura Morgan, 2006 Laura is a third-year medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine. |
Kimberly Shephard, 2006 Kim is currently working as a Study Abroad Advisor in the Study Abroad Office here at CC, but will be pursuing her PhD in Medieval History at the University of Southern California in Fall of 2008. |
Sami Adler, 2007 Sami received her MAT from Colorado College in 2008 and now teaches Latin at Rocky Mountain Classical Academy. |
