Loan Period
You may check out materials with a current CC ID card. Materials circulate for 30 days and can be renewed for additional time (check the Tutt library catalog to renew online). Periodicals do not circulate. Additional information is found on the Circulation Department Web Page.
Interlibrary Loan
If you encounter material you need for your research that is not available at Tutt Library, you may be able to borrow those resources from another library. The Interlibrary Loan office is located to the left of the Circulation Area. During the summer the office is staffed from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. If you need assistance at other times please ask at the Reference Desk. Online request forms are located on the Interlibrary Loan Department web page. You must first register with the ILLiad system before ordering items from another library.
Many of the online periodical databases have an interlibrary loan feature built into the system. Prospector and WorldCat are two methods of requesting books from other libraries. If you have questions about these features or services please ask the Reference Librarian on duty or call 389-6662 for intructions. Please note that the loan period for Interlibrary loan books is different from Tutt Library books. The lending library sets the loan period, not Tutt.
Prospector
Prospector is a unified catalog of many Colorado academic and public libraries. The catalog will allow users to view library holdings and circulation information with a single query of the global database. You can borrow up to 50 books at a time using the Prospector system. This service is separate from the Interlibrary Loan Department. Items requested are picked up at the Circulation Desk. The loan period is different from Tutt Library books and fines are stiff! It generally takes 3-5 days to obtain an item through Prospector.
WorldCat
WorldCat is a worldwide union catalog created and maintained collectively by more than 9,000 member institutions. Depending on the item and how readily available it is, it may take a few weeks to obtain an item, so start your research early.
Photocopy Machines
Photocopies are 10 cents a page. The machines take coins and dollar bills. The photocopiers also accept Colorado College "Gold Cards", and the cost is reduced to 7 cents a page. You must have previously designated money on your card to be used for photocopies. This can be done at the Gold Card Office in Worner Center.
Access from Home
Many databases (ERIC, Ebsco Academic Search, Academic Universe. and others) are restricted to Colorado College students, faculty and staff. When accessing databases from a remote location, you will be prompted for your last name and TIGER #, which is found on your Gold Card.
Other Libraries
Your CC ID gives you access to many additional libraries in the state. Check with the Circulation Desk for the current list of reciprocal agreements. University of Colorado at Colorado Springs has a good collection of education monographs and periodicals. Their online library catalog is accessible via several links from our web pages. UCCS has microfiche copies of ERIC documents from 1981 to the present. They do not loan their ERIC documents, but you may view them there.
