Join the staff of Tutt Library for Library Lunch & Learn, a series of short informative sessions. Noon most Thursdays, come for pizza and stay for a 30-45 minute presentation. Hispanic Heritage Month: Mexico - Gwen Gregory

Much of the southwestern US was once part of New Spain and then Mexico. How much do you know about the country that borders the US to the south? Perhaps you would like to explore the culture, art, or history of Mexico. You might want to travel there, or participate in CC's Study Abroad program in Oaxaca. Join us for Mexican food as we survey resources available to learn about Mexico.

As a CC faculty or staff member, what can the library do for you? We'll tell you about a few to whet your appetite, like our Current Books collection and our video collection, databases that might help your children with their homework, as well as reviewing our relevant policies.

The Learning Commons

Hilary Hoekenga, Paraprofessional for the Crown Faculty Center, will describe the resources available to students, staff and faculty in the Learning Commons. The Learning Commons is located in the South wing of Tutt Library on the first floor. This renovated space houses the Writing Center, Quantitative Reasoning tutoring, Disability Services,First Year & Sophomore Advising, the Computer Assisted Technology (CAT) Lab and the Crown Faculty Center.

Native American Indian Heritage Month: Native American Heritage of the Southwest

The southwestern U.S. has been home to Native Americans for thousands of years. Would you like to find out more about their culture and history? Maybe you want to find materials to incorporate into classes, papers, or presentations. We will explore information resources on the web and in paper as well as historic sites for you to visit. Come and learn more about this rich heritage with us.

Feeding frenzy: subscribe to the web with RSS and Atom Feeds

Rather than visiting many different sites in one day for news, weather, and blogs, you can get everything in one place by subscribing to RSS feeds. More and more sites are including feeds so you can subscribe to everything from academic articles to family photos. Learn how to subscribe to your favorite sites in this Lunch & Learn from Humanities Librarian, Steve Lawson.

Please join members of the Library Program Committee for the first of a series of campus discussions on plans for a new library for CC. We will briefly explore some resources for library planning and then open the floor for your comments and ideas. Open to students, faculty and staff.
