Interlibrary Loan and Prospector Materials
Materials borrowed through Interlibrary Loan and Prospector (which includes the Center for Research Libraries) have due dates that are set by the owning library. It is important that these borrowed materials be returned on time.
Please note: Materials borrowed through Interlibrary Loan MAY NOT be placed on course reserves.
For Interlibrary Loan information, please click on the following link: Interlibrary Loan. If you have any questions or need additional information, please call the Interlibrary Loan Coordinator at 389-6664 or Email Interlibrary Loan.
Returning Materials/Fines
To maintain an accurate physical inventory of the collection, we ask faculty to return books/scores after one year. If still needed, books may be checked out again at that time. Overdue fines are not charged to faculty, but faculty are charged replacement costs for materials that are lost or damaged. Materials that have been overdue for more than six months will be assumed lost, and faculty may be billed for replacement costs. Please see library policy regarding replacement for lost or damaged material.
Faculty who will be out of the Colorado Springs area for sabbatical or other extended periods of time should return all library materials before departing.
Designated return areas are the following:
- The Circulation Desk
- The book return bin, outside the library door, for after-hours return.
- Tutt Library, when Packard Hall is closed.
Interlibrary loan materials should be returned to Tutt Library.
Holds and Recalls
A hold may be placed on material that is already checked out by clicking on the “Request” button in the TIGER Catalog.
An item may be recalled for another user if it has been checked out for two weeks or more.
Recalled material must be picked up within ten days of the date of the notice of availability. If it is not picked up within this time, it will be returned to the shelves or given to the next person on the waiting list, if one exists.
Confidentiality of Records
Library circulation records and other records identifying the names of library patrons are confidential in nature. Such records will not be made available except pursuant to legal process, order or subpoena.
