Produced on commission for the Arts for Nature Trust, as a 75th birthday gift for Prince Phillip. Duke of Edinburgh. History Professor Carol Neel assisted with the editing. The book consists of quotations from the world’s major religions juxtaposed to 21 of James Trissel’s drawings of insects, birds, moths and butterflies. Handset Spectrum type printed by Trissel on Johannot paper; endsheet papers handmade by Tom Leech. Drawings printed with polymer plates. Each page printed with a “rainbow roll” executed in a different manner. Bound in green cloth on boards, green cloth slipcase, title stamped in silver foil on cover. Assistance from Kay Buxton and Kerry Brown for their choice of text and the supervision of its development. Production assistance from Brendan Keenan and Brian Molanphy. 37 pages. Edition of 1 presentation copy and 50 other copies. 121/4“ x 91/4“.
