The Printed Poem / The Poem as Print
Series of American poetry, edited by Dana Gioia and Alastair Reid. 24 broadsides printed by James Trissel on a variety of papers and with an equally large assortment of types. Display types, many uncommon to “fine printing,” were used. Virtually all the many devices of relief and letterpress printing — photoengravings, blind de-bossing, transparent color, tint blocks, linoleum and woodcuts, even gold stamping —were employed. Edition of 150 sets, most of the poems signed by the poets. Students who assisted with the publication include Stephen Antupit, Jill Campbell, Todd Davis, Andrew Hook, Sally Hegarty, Laura Johnson, Kurt Kiefer, Robert Macanulty, Jennifer Mindel, and Ben Trissel.
