Liaison to History
Bryant "Tip" Ragan is professor and chair of the Department of History at
The Colorado College. He received his B.A. from the University of Texas,
Austin, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Specializing in early modern French history and the history of sexuality,
Tip has edited three books: Re-creating Authority in Revolutionary France
(New Brunswick: Rutgers University Press, 1992); Homosexuality in Modern
France (New York: Oxford University Press, 1996); and Homosexuality in
Early Modern France: A Documentary Collection (New York: Oxford University
Press, 2001). He has been active in many scholarly organizations,
including the Society for French Historical Studies and the American
Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, and in 2000, he served as
President of the Western Society for French History.
