Walton Family Foundation Challenge Grant for Scholarship Support
In October 2010 Colorado College received a five-year, $10 million challenge grant from the Walton Family Foundation to significantly increase our scholarship endowment for first-generation and deep-need students. This generous gift requires that we raise an equal amount during the five-year grant period, ultimately creating $20 million in additional scholarship endowment for some of our most financially needy students.
Alumni and parent response to the Walton Challenge has been phenomenal and it enabled us to raise the first $2 million by June 30, 2011 – six months ahead of schedule! We are gratified by this enthusiastic reaction. Thanks to all of you who have helped us meet the match to date!
