Important factors include the secondary school record, class rank, SAT or ACT scores, writing ability, and school recommendations. At least sixteen secondary school academic units are required. Eighteen or more units are highly recommended. Special attention is paid to students with Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, honors, accelerated or enriched programs.

Other significant factors include special talents or abilities, extracurricular participation, international experience and an optional interview.

First Year Application Procedure

Colorado College accepts the Common Application and requires a supplemental form. The application fee is $50 and is non-refundable.

Deadlines

  • Early Decision I (binding) deadline is November 15; notification comes in mid- to late-December.
  • Early Action (non-binding) deadline is November 15; notification comes in mid-January.
  • Early Decision II (binding) deadline is January 1; notification comes in mid-February.
  • Regular Action deadline is January 15; notification comes in late March.

The reply date for both early and regular action applicants is May 1. Admitted students may request by May 1 to defer entrance for one year.
