To begin the tour with a little history, Colorado College was founded in 1874, two years before Colorado was officially a state (1876, the same year Custer met his end at Little Big Horn). The oldest building on campus, Cutler was in the beginning the sole permanent facility in which the entire college functioned. Located in the west-central portion of campus (west of Cascade Avenue), Cutler is now home to the offices of admission and financial aid. It has recently undergone major restoration work on both its interior and exterior, and is one of many facilities on campus on the National Register of Historic Places.
