Recycling
In Fall 2008, Colorado College switched to a single-stream recycling program in all its buildings. Single-stream means that all recyclables can be collected together in the same container, making it more convenient for the user. Single-stream recycling and promotion of the program increased the campus waste-diversion rate from 15 percent to 45 percent. CC recycles 1-7 plastics, steel, aluminum, glass, paper, and cardboard. The transportation shop also recycles used motor oil to heat the automotive repair garage.
