CC's first on-campus renewable electricity project was initiated in April 2008 and completed only three weeks later. A group of students, donors and staff at Colorado College collaborated to bring the goal to fruition. The 25-kilowatt solar array, on the Edith Gaylord Apartments, was the largest solar electric system permitted through the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department in the Colorado Springs Utilities service area at the time. The college is considering several other renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and geothermal.
